"What a nice find. We've been to West Virginia for years with family roots. When this property showed up or Hotels.com, it was a pleasant surprise. Very quaint and cozy on a quiet street on the banks of the Elk River in Braxton Co., WV. Called to check on us as we were running late, offered to hold the Cafe open for dinner. Escorted to your room. The history of it's old period construction with new touches is really cool. Bed comfy, quiet night. We intend to stay again. "

"Clean property with undated bathrooms. Kitchen could be updated as well, but overall a spacious place to stay while at Snowshoe. One other side is no central heat and air, so you have to heat with baseboard heating and it’s sorta tough to set it to a certain temperature. "

"We have a great time staying here. Sauna and Hot tub was fantastic and 10 min. away from the slopes. Only thing was the WIFI wasn't working and no cell service. Since there is no WIFI that means no TV as well. Good thing they have a good collection of DVDs. We lived through the weekend like in the 90's. Cell service was very spotty at Snow Shoe as well with little to no Wifi. Don't plan on working if you stay here. "

"The condo is a little dated, but clean and comfortable. No sheets were provided for the fold out couch, so we had to sacrifice a top sheet from one of the beds so that the guests sleeping in the living room had a covering for their mattress. We thought maybe we could find them in a closet or something, but we searched everywhere and couldn't find any. The kitchen was very well stocked. "Walk to the slopes is one of the nicer properties we have stayed at on snowshoe mountain. The kitchen is amazing and has EVERYTHING we needed to cook and celebrate. The coffee/wine bar was so helpful. Diane is an amazing host and took care of everything. She is most responsive and took care of whatever came up. She also provided us with a well stocked starter of beverages. The beds are very comfortable and the living spaces are conducive to cozy gathering. There was plenty of firewood. ...
