"We were a party of 10, getting together to celebrate the 60th birthday party of 2 family members. The house was beautiful, plenty of room for everyone, although to be honest we spend most of our time in the cosy but large kitchen and adjacent games room. Many period features allowed you to really experience how they used to love. Kirby Stephen high street was a stones throw away, making it convenient for local shops and pubs. Would highly recommend for a large family get together"

"We couldn't fault the stay at all. The location was beautiful,it was easy to find, peaceful and quiet. The house served as an ideal base from which to explore the Lake District. Coming home to soak in the hot tub was an ideal way to end a busy day."

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this little gem on the outskirts of the Lake District. Communication with the owner is very friendly, the house itself is very clean and cozy, equipped with everything we could have wanted. Waking up to a splendid view over the fells and sheep meadows from the bedroom windows, followed by a nice breakfast in the garden, was one of our everyday highlights during our one week stay."

"An ideal quiet location with access to Penrith and the Lakes. Well appointed modern property, private parking. Host could not have been more friendly and helpfull. We did have a couple of issues with the Verbo discription verse actual facilities- however host was quick to sort out and offered us alternative very close by. Thanks for that. All in all we had a great stay and would not hesitate to book again next time we visit the lakes."

"We stayed in July 2024 as a group of 13 (age range was teenagers to adults) + 2 dogs. Location is great with a good range of shops, restaurants and bars within walking distance from the house and main attractions of Windermere a short drive away. 5 en-suite bathrooms were much appreciated given we were 4 separate families. Also a table we could all sit at at the same time also fab! Hot tub also appreciated!"

"Lovely cottage very spacious, housed a family of six and dogs very well. There was nothing we needed for cooking and washing. Great washer and dryer. The bedrooms are very spacious and very cosy. Towels provided and beds all made when we arrived. Lovely little village and loads of walks around the place and plenty of places to drive to within a short distance. Only bugbear was the water heater and hot water, for the first day we had no hot water in the kitchen and en-suite, which rectified...

"Family gathering to mark our Golden Wedding Year. House was ideal in size and well equipped for all our needs. Teenagers especially enjoyed Xbox in cinema room and the hot tub was well appreciated by all apart from the real oldies. Especially good was the proximity of the property to the town of Windermere which meant we could walk to restaurants etc. Highly recommended "

"We loved our stay and were delighted with the property, a stunning barn conversion in a pretty village - three large en-suite bedrooms with comfy beds and double height living area, tastefully furnished, well equipped kitchen and a beautiful well-kept garden. "We loved our stay in this cottage. The owners have put such thought into the items and I loved the textiles and pictures. It was super comfy and a real treat to stay at the cottage. Although easy access via a main road and spar garage for goodies, the cottage itself is in a private road and set back. We were able to walk from the cottage to the most glorious walks. A great treat."
