"We had a wonderful 5 night stay at Ellerbrook House. The hosts were very welcoming and made us feel very comfortable. The room was clean, comfortable and had lovely extra touches with free toiletries and tea/coffee. The breakfasts were lovely and there was a lot of choice. Wouldn’t hesitate recommending this place for a stay in Windermere. Town was a 5 min walk away with a good range of restaurants too. Pleasure to meet you Rob and Becky. "Wonderful place to stop while hiking the coast to coast trail. Didn't realize you had to walk around the building to check in just off the parking lot, since we didn't arrive by car. Steph was so welcoming and did a load of wash for us for a small donation in their cup on the bar. A fire alarm went off at 450 am bolting us out of bed. Turned out to be nothing but I think I remember reading about this happening before in someone's write up. Dinner and breakfast was good! "

"Mike and Lynn run a first-class professional establishment. They provide an appropriately relaxed environment with excellent facilities. Our room was quiet, spacious and spotless. The bed was comfortably firm. For those traveling by car, the ample parking in an enclosed courtyard is a rare bonus. Breakfast selections are prepared with care. Overall, the property and management deserve a five-star rating."

"I picked this property after an extensive search and reading tons of reviews. As I prefer a house type accommodation, this fit my needs. A plus for me was facilities to brew coffee in the room, and a communal fridge to store my heavy cream. Milk is provided for guests in that fridge too. "5 stars are not enough for the George and Dragon - the absolute best care and hospitality can be found here! Such a gem in a beautiful village with so much history. All the staff were so kind and accommodating, and the food was delicious and generous portions. Only place open for dinner in the evening so be sure to reserve! Highly highly recommend. "

"We absolutely loved our time at Windermere Suites and Windermere. Vicky and Alex were very welcoming and helpful. We loved their advice on places to see, their helpfulness and good conversation. The breakfast was delicious and very generous with a wide variety to choose from. The room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The bathroom was amazing with a massive spa bath, mood lighting and tv. Our stay here has certainly been a highlight of our European trip!"

"The stay was over priced. £100 for B&B out of season in a very small (9' x 10'6") room with bathroom only slightly larger than the bathroom on an aircraft. There was no room for a chair in the room. A single bed would have been more appropriate for this room. The decor of the room was however very good. "We loved our stay in this cottage. The owners have put such thought into the items and I loved the textiles and pictures. It was super comfy and a real treat to stay at the cottage. Although easy access via a main road and spar garage for goodies, the cottage itself is in a private road and set back. We were able to walk from the cottage to the most glorious walks. A great treat."

"We chose this hotel for its location it was convenient for all our needs.The hotel was quiet and clean and the staff were very pleasant and greeted you when coming or going from the property...it also had a swimming pool but we didnt use it this time .overall the room was clean and comfortable and had a kettle for tea and coffee making and a complimentary bottle of still and sparkling water .We will definitely be staying at the hotel again in the future"

A hidden gem unlike any other motorway hotel.

"I have family in Scotland and travel there 2 or 3 times a year. My partner and i normally do it in one hit. 10 hours including stops. Decided to break the journey and spend a night in Tebay. What a great decision, Apart from breaking up the journey. We received a warm welcome, lovely spacious room. Had a frw relaxing drinks in the bar serving locally sourced beer and gins. Had a really nice dinner followed by a night cap and a great nights sleep. Brekkie was very nice also. Staff were excellent, polite, professional and warm. The location was beautiful with wonderful scenery. Will definitely be calling again next time i do this trip. "
