"It is really a superb hotel. In Matera to be able to sleep in a room "cave" is quite special. The room #5 is large and had everything we needed except a big mirror. The only one was a small square one in the open bathroom above the lavabo and the lighthening was more romantic then useful there! "The proprietor was the most kind and helpful person in that position I have ever encountered in my many years of international travel. I have some mobility issues, and he brought our bags both up and down the steep stairs to the rooms. The breakfast on the unbelievably lovely top patio was simply fabulous and had a panoramic view of the Adriatic and old section of town.
