"It was great to be close to everything in Ponta Delgada and the parking was convenient. Being 2 couples we were able to each have our own floor. The apartment was in a quiet area but just a short walk away from the action. Welcomebuddy was very helpful and on top of everything."

We were 2 couples on our first visit to Sao Miguel and the proximity to the airport and city gave us the perfect "home base" while traveling the beautiful island of Sao Miguel. "The owner is very nice and we were received in a very kind fashion. The house is fashionable and very cozy. The surroundings are just amazing. No need to worry about parking, since there is a parking spot right in front of the house, inside the property. We just loved it."

"The location of this place is unbelievable, we ate breakfast outside in the garden with an incredible view of the ocean! The windmill is iconic, very cool place to stay. The inside is cozy and was all that we needed, we had no complaints."

"With the beautiful and ever-changing views of the ocean and sky from the front windows, to the 2-minute walk to the best sunsets on the island, we so enjoyed the house. In addition, the back yard space was wonderful and private. The only negative was that it was difficult to get air to flow, insect-free, through the house. However we understand that air conditioning will be installed. Perfect!"

"We were more than happy to have discovered Vila Alegre in the countryside outside of Ponta Delgada. It was beautiful, peaceful, and an amazing place to have been our home base for 5 days in Sao Miguel. Antonio was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and willing to answer questions to help guide our itinerary while there. We can't say enough good things about our experience there, and we definitely plan to return!"

"Overall, the property is very spacious. The home is divided into 3 separate areas with different entries for each. The air conditioners did not work the entire time we were there. They stated they were waiting for a part they had ordered. The windows don’t have screens so you can open them but you get some flies. The bottom section has a mildew smell but it’s expected with homes near the beach. The biggest inconvenience was they had men working on the property the entire time we were there. They...

"The Blue House was a wonderful home away from home. From the many windows are beautiful views of the sea and coastline. The host welcomed us with a bottle of wine, local cheese and bread, and basics like eggs, butter etc… It is best to have a rental car as it is about a 20 min drive to the Ponta Delgada and the airport."

"Beautiful place and location on a one way street, a busy street, parking could be a problem. But we could always find a spot somewhere. The house had everything you would need. We found the top three steps of the stairs difficult for the 2 small children. Small grocery store right across the road, bakery up the road. Short walk to the ocean, fishing harbour, restaurants and shops We experienced 3 festival or celebrations in our week there. We would stay there again"

"We rented a 1 bedroom apartment which was spacious and had a living room, small kitchen and separate bedroom/bathroom area. Small balcony with chairs. Hotel has nice indoor heated pool, gym, game room and restaurant. Beautiful landscape. Staff friendly, helpful and efficient. Abundant free parking. We had a car and drove to the lakes then to the waterfalls. All attractions 20-45 mins via car. Close to small markets, walking to Moby Dick local restaurant, 2 streets over from beach. Full...

"This was a fantastic hotel and we would definitely come back! Location could not be better, the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, rooms are spacious and well kept up, and it has everything you need whether you’re staying in or going out exploring. Pros: - We were fresh off a red eye flight and were given a free room upgrade and early check in! - Location is super easy to access from the main highways but is still just a 5 minute walk from the center of Ribeira Grande. - Central location means you’re close to Ponta Delgada and it’s still easy to get to both sides of the island. - Staff are friendly and helpful. - Rooms are spacious, comfortable, and modern. - Shower water pressure is fantastic. - Free breakfast is a nice addition and has many options. - Great gym for a hotel, pools and sauna are fantastic. - Bed is comfortable (if you like a firm mattress). - Easy and ample parking Cons: - Food at breakfast is generally room temperature. - Rooms are not super sound proof. - Limited restaurant options in the immediate area and the hotel’s restaurant is expensive."
