"Loved this spot mainly because of the great customer service. I wanted to visit this port town and it wasn’t too far from the JR Abashiri station. The staff was really friendly and helped us get a taxi going back to the station and also helped me find where to get a souvenir doll from the town. The room was nice. "This is an excellent place to stay. The owners are very kind and generous and made my stay very homely. It is quite far from the city but the owners will pick you up from the station. They are very accommodating and help in every way possible. The beds are comfy and the place is clean. Highly recommended! "

"Very good location in the heart of Shari. Excellent staff and service. Breakfast buffet is ok, supermarket down the street is fairly well stocked. Easy access to all the sights on the Shiretoko Peninsula. Only negatives are the small room and hard pillows, otherwise a great place to stay."

"Hosts are helpful and sent us instructions on the day we checked in. Not really a hostel per se, no cooking was permitted. There was also some charge for disposal of food waste. There was no lighting at the car park area with portholes, so checking in after sunset could be challenging."

"If you are looking for one night hotel to stay before going to Shiretoko, this is the place! This hotel is in walkable distance to the airportliner and other coach buses. Breakfast was great as well. The only downside is that the bathroom is very small. "

The sauna on 9F is pretty great and even has an outside spa overlooking the snowy town. Really great way to start my morning before checking out. They also offer free laundry which I wish more hotels did. You only have to pay to dry your clothes. Recommend! "

Comfortable and convenient hotel

"I stayed in a 'comfort twin' room for 4 nights and really liked this hotel. The room was a good size and I had a lovely view of the mountains to the north. It's probably been a while since this hotel has been refurbished but the public areas were comfortable. There are a number of vending machines, an ice machine and you can get free hot drinks from a machine in the lobby. The staff were friendly and arranged the forwarding of my luggage with Yamato. Breakfast was a self service buffet with a reasonable selection of hot and cold dishes, including some pastries. It's the first time that I've stayed anywhere that has a machine that dispenses rice. I travelled by public transport and the hotel is very conveniently located opposite the train station and just round the corner from the bus station. On the corner opposite the hotel is a seicomart (Hokkaido chain of combini like 7Eleven and Lawsons). I'd very happily stay here again if I return to Shari."

But the town is still perfectly clean and safe. Parking is onsite and included. It's an older hotel and but still well looked after. The room is centrally climate controlled, which might not be to your comfort - but the window can be opened for ventilation. Good value at the price I paid, but you get what you pay for."
