"The room looked much better than the pictures. Not sure if this building is new or they renovated but everything is new and very clean. This is the warmest toilet I ever sat on. Parking was super easy. Attractions are a 3 minute drive or a 30minute walk. So many restaurants within walking distance. There is a mcdonalds across the street that closes at 11pm and a supermarket 5 min away. The lounge is wonderful. You can make coffee, tea, warm up or toast food. Quiet neighborhood. "

"Monjusou was a fantastic place to stay in Amanohashidate. It is close to the station, less than 5 minutes walk, and very close to all of the great sites to visit. The staff was excellent and treated us very well, and were helpful and friendly. The restaurant was amazing too."

"The hotel has been recently rebranded and is undergoing extensive renovations. The bits they've finished, like the rooms and the dining room, are new and shiny. The room itself was comfortable. It's close to the town, which has good izakaya and other options if you're not on a meal plan. There is also a Lawson close-by. On weekdays especially the hotel is an active construction site inside and out. It probably isn't what the workers want, to have to share a construction site with guests. It also felt a bit odd as a guest e.g. the workers congregate/socialise/smoke in a space inside the hotel entrance. I realise they are trying hard to improve the hotel, and the hotel staff were courteous and helpful at all times. The state of construction is reflected in the price, which is cheaper than nearby options. I read about the construction in advance from Japanese language reviews on other sites, so it wasn't a complete surprise."

"The hotel is right opposite the Amanohashidate station. The room was great and all should try the onsen. Staff speaks limited English but they are still very helpful and polite. The buffet breakfast is wonderful. Check out the spread of Japanese seafood items and the fish miso soup. Do plan for your dinner as many shops are closed after 5pm."
