"Make sure to use the pay phone at the train station to call the shuttle to pick you up if you don’t have a local phone. So other than that stress, this is a beautiful, peaceful place with a wonderful separated onsen and amazing authentic Japanese food. "

"It's more of a bed&breakfast than a hotel. No dining room, etc. -- mainly just individual rooms off of an external corridor that gives it an almost motel-type feel. However, it is indeed right on the water, the location and views are stunning, the rooms are clean and esoteric and breakfast delivered in a bamboo basket is incredibly charming. Would definitely recommend "

"Really lovely ryokan and onsen with beautiful ocean views. The futons were very comfortable, as well. It's a little outside of Wakayama city (about 30 minutes/¥3500 by taxi), but there is a nearby bus and they have a parking area if you are driving. The staff speaks a little English, but don't expect the same level of English that you might get at a larger, urban hotel. Overall, it was very relaxing and I would definitely recommend it."

Better than expected

"Overall, a great option close to the airport. Easy checkin, extremely clean room, and amenities in room in case you forgot something was a nice touch. Only downside was no room service. However, right by the hotel is a lounge that Priority Pass members can use to get food, as an alternative. "
