"We arrived after dark via taxi and were surprised at the incredible location and architecture. This is an authentic Japanese experience— tatami floors and comfortable futon mats!! "Had a very comfortable and pleasant stay at the fujiyama base. The receptionist was very polite and helpful. It was just a couple of minutes from the train station so that was a big plus. Would consider staying there again if we were in the area. "

"I really like this place. It was very cool and relaxing while there. The service was great and the lobby was very relaxing with very comfortable furniture. The place was a little walk uphill from the bus station and getting taxis were not easy depending on when you arrive. The downside was the shower took a long time to get hot and the water from the shower head in my room felt like sharp things because of the shower head. They should be changed. "The staff are very accomodating and very welcoming. They picked us up from and sent us to the train station for free. They offered us ( 5 people) a ride with a ¥2000 fee to lake kawaguchi. They also offered to pick us up from the Fujikawaguchiko masjid back to the guesthouse for the same rate later that night but they did not turn up . Instead, they told us to get our own taxi as they have picked up another customer. Luckily we got a help from the masjid cafe staff who called a taxi for us. We...

"This property was a treat to stay in, especially for the price. The traditional futons made for a quiet, relaxing evening before a busy day of touring Fujiyoshida. I was a huge fan of the wood floor bathroom and wooden bathtub as well. I would recommend spring or summer stays, as the traditional construction means it will be quite cold in the winter, but it was a lovely stay and I would recommend this to anyone visiting Mt. Fuji."

"Stay was convenient. Although i did try to contact staff by email and phone i had no luck. But i also didnt book directly with the hostel so its not their fault either. Luckily there was somoene willing to help get in contact with staff. Bedding was comfortable enough, room was provided with air conditioning. But all in all its totally fine for a short stay. Right next to family mart and easy self check in ~ bonus!! "

"This place was amazing. The hosts were so friendly and helpful it really made the trip perfect. We had a traditional Japanese room and I slept so good on the bedding that my back felt great each morning. The area is beautiful and the host are knowledgeable about the sites visitors come to see. We’ll be coming back. "

"The ryokan at entrance was beautiful. The lobby and the whole lower floor was spectacular. Loved how walking inside your completely transported to a Japanese experience with bridged walkways shaped of arcs and where there was ponds underneath lthose bridges. "Check in was a little sketchy, I struggled to find the right door at first and keypad. And when I got into my room, I didn't realize the door would lock behind me when I left. I closed the door to go to the bathroom downstairs and luckily I had my phone on me with my code, but if I had locked my phone in my room without my code I would've been in a really bad spot since there is no receptionist or on-site staff. "Very pleasant stay. Great view of Mt. Fuji right at the front door of the resort. Everything you need is provided. Best dinner ever with the BBQ they provided. We bought very fresh food at nearby supermarket and grilled them for dinner. Staffs were really helpful while I sprained my ankle the first night. Appreciated their help."

"Really nice place, big could fit 4/6 people easy. There was only two of us so we had lots of space. Location was decent. About 15/20min nice walk from mt fuji station. You get your own private indoor hot tube,you have to fill it yourselves,theres a hob fridge and microwave. Also really nice views of Mt fuji. We would stay here again "

"The hotel is very conveniently located within many eateries and convenience store. As we rented a car, driving around to the theme park and 5 lakes around Mt fuji is also very easy and not far. Last but not lease Mt Fuji view is fantastic!"

Haostay with a view

"Checkin was efficient & well explained. Provided with a code to access room. No key. Pleasantly surprised on entering the room with great view of Mt Fuji from the window. Room very comfortable with 2 beds, a separate sitting area Japanese style, kettle with amenities available from reception. Staff were very good & very attentive to requirements. Access to a rooftop area to admire Mt Fuji. We were lucky with clear days. Breakfast was included with my room - either Japanese cuisine , which was very tasty or international - egg & ham sandwich. Coffee, tea , juices are available. Ate at the restaurant which had a limited menu of 2 items. The ramen was very tasty. Hotel is approx half hour walk from kawaguchiko station. Also a short walk to the lake. Restaurants in the locality requiring a walk from the hotel. Bicycles are also available for hire to explore the area. I enjoyed my stay at Haostay & thank the staff for welcoming nature. Would recommend Haostay. "
