"The cabin was fine. Pictures were good. Property was very clean. No problem with the major details; however… there were only stones for steps down a very steep hill to get to the port b. No grave on parking area. It rained and was an absolute mud hole. The stone steps were wobbly and dangerous especially when wet. No handrail. Very difficult for senior adults. There was a large broken chair in the living room. It should not have been left in the room. Two of the legs were missing and laying on a table by the TV. Luckily no one sat in the chair as it looked fine. I put my arm on the chair to sit down and it wobbles to the floor. I called the property manager and was told someone would call me back, four days later… no call back. We also discovered the fireplace would not work. No one to tell - no call back. There was some difficulty checking in. Internet service and cell service at this property is scratchy at best. The property manager waited till check in time to send me the door code. No phone, no internet… no message. Had to leave the property find phone service to get the email with the code. One inside the property, I had to reset the internet router to connect to very limited on/off internet for the next four days. Again, the property was as advertised and clean. Beware if you need cell and internet, if you have mobility issues and have to deal with rock steps down. Hull with no handrail and no calls returned to get a chair and fireplace fixed. "

"Overall we had a great time. The fire place wasn't working but outside of that the cabin is nice. Basement is perfect for entertaining kids. The Internet isn't the strongest so come prepared for that. The views are just amazing. We sat outside a lot just staring at the mountains all around us. The host was very responsive. The town of Murphy is super cute and way less crowded than most.."

"The best thing we can say is that we hated to leave and can't wait to return. The cabin has been lovingly expanded and renovated to provide a very comfortable up-to-date environment with a personal touch. The property is very private and very walkable with beautiful meadows, creeks and a pond. As a bonus, the holiday decorations were charming. Tesy is congenial and geniunely responsive. "We have stayed in a few rentals in the area when visiting family and this place is, BY FAR, the best one! This property was clean, welcoming, and incredibly quiet. It’s a great cabin nestled in the woods. The best part: it was fully decorated for Christmas! My 2 year old about lost his mind when he saw the Christmas tree in the window. We will definitely be booking this property again."

"This was our second time staying here for the holidays. We love EVERYTHING about this cabin. Excellent communication & customer service provided by the host, Debbi. We kept busy with ping pong, pool & board games. The cabin was warm & cozy when the outside temperature went down into the 20’s. We got to see several deer on the property & in an empty wooded lot next door. Very safe & quiet community. Enjoyed downtown Blue Ridge & Mercier Orchards, as well as snow tubing and the mountain coaster at Highlands Outpost (a MUST if you have kids or teens). We HIGHLY recommend Hideaway Chalet at Bear Paw!"

"We had an incredible experience in Murphy, North Carolina. The view from our cabin was breathtaking right from the moment we woke up. It felt like we were gazing into the vast unknown, and it was absolutely wonderful. The peacefulness enveloped us as soon as we arrived, making us feel completely at ease. This vacation rental felt just like home, with every little detail thoughtfully arranged and the supplies provided by our host. The cleanliness was outstanding, and the attention to detail from the cleaner was impressive, with charming designs on the toiletries and in the kitchen. There was nothing about this cabin that disappointed us; in fact, it was truly exceptional. The neighborhood was equally delightful, with friendly neighbors who welcomed us warmly and were eager to assist with anything we needed. The hot tub was a perfect addition, creating a lovely atmosphere for our mountain getaway. Being able to bring our dog along made our stay in Murphy even more special. We also enjoyed a trip to the Nantahala Adventure Center, where we watched kayakers braving the chilly waters and had a great time dining at a local restaurant. "Perfectly suited to our family , with everything you could possibly need for cooking and serving a gathering…… while there was room for more, we were 4-5 , but had family over for meals and games. Beautiful views, wonderful wood burning stove and plenty of space to spread out. Recommend!!!!!"
