I was pleasantly surprised by daily room cleaning and towel change, as well as common kitchen where you can get utensils and plates. The building is in the old district so it's not the most modern, which goes for furniture as well. Everything was functional, the beds were comfortable. The sound isolation is not good, but in the night there is quiet period as well as no traffic on the street so no issues with noise. Only bad...

"The hotel staff were very friendly. The highlight was the rooftop bar where we watched the sunset. The breakfast buffet was excellent. The room unfortunately did not have good sound insulation and we could hear people from next door and also loud bangs whenever doors are closed. "

"A very welcoming hotel with friendly and helpful staff . All areas are spotless and rooms spacious and comfortable. The grounds are immaculate and there is one heated pool . Very much appreciated in the winter months ! The hotel is in a convenient position with a short downward walk into Funchal and also benefits from certain areas within The Savoy Palace . "I had a wonderful stay at this hotel, located in a peaceful area that's just a short walk from the oceanfront and not far from the town center. There are plenty of great restaurants, bars, and cafés nearby. The breakfast selection was impressive, and the rooftop bar offered amazing views, along with expertly crafted drinks from the talented bartenders. The service was top-notch, with the front desk team being exceptionally friendly, especially Luis who gave us a warm welcome at check-in....

"The staff were helpful and friendly throughout our stay . The room was probably in need of an update but cannot fault the cleanliness . It has a lovely bar area inside and out and both the outdoor pools were clean and tidy . The indoor spa and pool were an added bonus . We were B&B and the breakfast was more than acceptable. We did eat in the restaurant on one of the evenings and found the food lacking in choice but this would be my only negative. The hotel is a 20min walk into the town centre...

"The hotel is above a shopping centre without any grounds around the hotel, however, it is in an excellent location within easy walking distance to the old town. All the staff were very helpful throughout our stay. The bedroom was sleek and modern with an ‘open plan’ shower/wash area. The beds were very comfortable with 3 different pillows varying from soft to firm. There are no views other than from the rooftop swimming pool and bar area but this didn’t significantly detract from the stay as we were out most of the time. The breakfast buffet was excellent with good quality ingredients and freshly squeezed orange juice. We were also amused by the mobile robot which took the dirty dishes back to the kitchen. Overall the hotel lives up to it’s 5 star billing, is excellent value for money and I would highly recommend a stay at the Vine the next time you are in Funchal."

"I loved it! I had a sea view and as expected the sunset was amazing from any angle of the hotel. I enjoyed the breakfast served here. The front desk staff were very professional & helpful. The location it's conveniently (15-minutes away from Funchal) if you decide not to rent a car since public transportation is reliable in the area, literally there is a bus stop right in front of the hotel.... Well recommended. "
