"Excellent hotel, superb staff who went out of their way to welcome and take care of us, top-notch food and helpful & efficient staff in the restaurant, very comfortable room and bed, overall superb. Downtown San Jose is interesting but a bit tatty, though a very prominent security presence was very comforting (though we did not tour after dark). The area is visually attractive but too full of souvenir shops, rather like New York's Times Square in the1980s. But the hotel itself more than compensated for the lack of neighborhood ambience. "
