"I felt compelled to write a review, because the host, Irma, was so exceptional. She knew that we were coming in without a car, being dropped off by Taxi, very late in the evening, and it will be difficult for us to get any food that evening and for breakfast the next morning. So she happily offered to go to the grocery store and buy some food for us and put it in the fridge. Wow. Also, each day we would get fresh eggs from her farm, and fresh baby tomatoes. So delicious. "The start of my stay was very upsetting with a rude security guard who is obsessed with reverse parking. I could speak a reasonable amount of Spanish but my parents can not - he was so mean and angry they did not understand - I was translating to ensure they parked in a way he was happy with. "I arrived early on a Tuesday after flight delays. The place was nice- a lot of construction going on- but nice. Pool looked like it needed a shock but it’s not yet hot enough. Walked into town and enjoyed good food at La casa de Layla. The host was nice. I missed breakfast because I was sleeping soundly. Comfy spot to get adjusted to Tico life. "
