"We booked a last minute room and were pleasantly surprised how lovely and clean and comfortable it was. The bar area in the evening was relaxing and inviting. The breakfast area was hectic. There was a good choice of food and was lovely. The coffee was lukewarm even after we asked for a fresh pot. It’s easy walking distance into town. Overall, a good stay."

"Lovely hotel with everything one could ask for. Stayed three nights and wouldn’t leave as the property had so much to offer for a relaxing stay in the countryside. Even has a little market for extras one may need for a snack or swimsuit for the wonderful spa. "

"A firm mattress on 1 bed near door in room 19. Tea at breakfast could have been warmer. Night porter on desk out of reception hours. Number to phone reception and book of hotel breakfast and evening meal times in room."

"Very easy to check-in. Hotel well placed for the main north/south route. Handy for a short walk into the town. Although next to ASDA , the area was relatively quiet. Restaurant attached offers a good menu, including a choice for breakfast. Overall, a very enjoyable stay. "

"Hotel was very ornate and a beautiful setting for a wedding. A bit dated and worn in areas but that makes it charming. Too warm in the bedroom and couldn’t turn the bathroom radiator off which provided all the heat. Bed was comfy. Carpets needed to be cleaned. Gym had very basic and minimal equipment and floors were dirty and looked to have not been cleaned for while. Reception staff very friendly and welcoming. "
