"Typical climbers pub and accomodation. Stone floors fire and decent pub grub. Best pint ofGuinness for a long time. Rooms basic and dogs allowed. Wush we brought hours. Decor is quirky downstairs in pub and even worse in bedroom but the facilities are there. I did not mind it upstairs, lived it downstairs."

"We enjoyed staying at this traditional inn and meeting the lovely people who run it. It felt like such a genuine, honest, real place - somewhere we could relax and breathe easily, in contrast to the massive chain hotel we had just been staying in in Liverpool, where sheer numbers of guests led inevitably to a dehumanized, mass-produced feel. Here we were real people in a real place eating real food and sleeping in a real room with character and personality. The towels were folded into the shape of swans, the bed was so soft, there was a warm private bathroom with a separate shower and bath, all beautifully clean. From our window we could see the river and the high hills, we could watch the rain sweeping across the landscape and the sun rising clear above the billowing clouds. The walk from the station took us past quietly grazing sheep and banks of sunlit yellow daffodils. We are grateful and very happy to have had such a restorative time here. Thank you to everyone, and long may it continue."

"It is a lovely B&B. A little remote but beautiful views all around. Stayed two nights in the Boots room. Nice big room with large double bed, little sofa, couple of chairs and a gorgeous deep window sill, perfect for the morning cuppa and views across the fields. Bathroom was a good size as was the shower. Nothing worse than a tiny shower cubicle and this was a nice big space. They are horses and alpacas at the property. The roads to and from are a single track and rather rural. Take is easy and hope you don't meet anything other than a dog walker coming the other way. Breakfast was delicious. Fruit, yoghurt, cereal and a menu of cooked options. Plentiful tea, coffee and toast. Highly recommend a stay here, I definitely go back."

"Stayed 2 nights in Feb. Very comfortable bed and well presented room. The Inn itself was quiet and so lacked a little atmosphere but then it was mid-week. The food was excellent, I especially liked the salmon and the mushroom risotto was splendid. We would have eaten there again on the second night but the vegetarian options were limited. I'm sure the chef would have come up with something suitable but we wanted to explore other eating options locally anyway. Breakfast was plentiful and the bar and serving staff were all welcoming and attentive."
