"We loved the idea of staying in a castle and that in itself was magical. We stayed in the Cromwell Suite which is big. The kids loved the extra room to roam. The high ceiling in the living/2nd bed area was nice and contributed to the majestic feel.There were however a few things that could have been better. When we got there they did not have the room ready because they thought there were only 2 of us. Our reservation was for 2 adults and 2 kids. When we walked in the room the housekeeper seemed...

"We were really disappointed on arrival as the hotel was covered in scaffolding and the entrance looked much more like a 1970s multi-storey carpark than a 4* hotel. The stairs (the lift was out of order), reception area and room were very dated. The soundproofing in the bathroom was non-existent (my wife could hear everything next door). Having said that the beds were comfortable, the staff were friendly and the breakfast was ok."
