"The Paleis Hotel is in a great location for shopping, dining and sightseeing. The bed was very comfortable and the room was generously sized with lots of storage for clothing and suitcases. The only difficulty was with check in. There isn’t a regularly staffed front desk and we did not receive the email with the code to open the door to the hotel before we arrived. It was unclear how to contact hotel staff to be let in. "

"Perfect location. Easy Self checkin-in. Friendly owners whom went out of their way to bring us a grand breakfast as we had a competition, so we left 45mins before breakfast started. Love the 50’s room. (Soundproof as there was a music festival near the harbour, though our room was at the back). Welcome drinks in room. "It was a wonderful property. The only issue is there are a lot of stairs, even if you take the elevator we still had to do stairs to get to our room and there were stairs in our room. If you stay here, note if you have issues with stairs so they can put you in a different area."

"Hotel in quiet location convenient for Leiden and coast. We had the smallest room ‘Amsterdam’ billed as a single with 2 beds. There was no storage space, only one small cupboard. The beds were inset into wall and one was accessible only by a ladder, and on a balcony with little in the way of a safe handrail. Only the reasonably fit would be able to access this bed, and only the foolhardy would attempt a descent in the night. The bathroom was luxurious with the use of robes and slippers. The...
