"The location of the hotel is amazing and the views from the rooms were spectacular! The resort needs a major investment in upkeep - from the towels and bedsheets, to a refurbishment of the bathrooms and pool. The staff was very friendly although a lot did not speak English and so there was some miscommunication. Overall the resort is situated extremely well, but needs some refurbishment."

"I left my heart in Talalla Retreat. Incredible staff who were so welcoming and hard working, the Retreat itself is stunning. I had an upstairs bedroom so was able to fully enjoy the surroundings. The food was incredible. I felt super safe. I didn’t want to leave. A must visit - and please do as the Sri Lankan people need visitors right now. "

"I loved the location which was on the beach and it was a great view to see surfers surfing. Loved the food and the music wasn't too loud. I can't remember the name of the gentlemen staff but he spoke good English and was Sri Lankan who used to work in the middle east. He really really made us feel welcome and comfortable. "So…it’s a great hotel, but overpriced, but that’s on brand for Marriott. At that cost, meals should be included. "
