"The River Lodge is a beautiful property set in lovely grounds. We had a large beautiful room, very comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and a balcony with a wonderful view of the mountain. We had fabulous breakfasts and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only downside is that it is quite remote - about a 10 minute drive into Ohakune."

"Overall was ok. It was noisy as my room was close to the main Road. Spacious room with spa. Spa had some unknown yellowish plastic stain which didn’t look appealing to use. Requested for 30mins late check out time I was declined.I had an online meeting scheduled from 0900-1000, just in cause my meeting drags on I requested for an extra 30mins late checkout at 1030, it was declined. I thought it was a reasonable request, but to them it was not. "

"The property was very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The manager was very helpful and pleasant. The only negative for me was that the spa bath was vey big and didn't have many grab rails, so I didn't feel safe getting into it."
