"My stay at Posada Plaza Mayor was absolutely lovely!  It looked exactly as on their website and on Hotels.com, which is how I booked.  I visited Colonia from Buenos Aires, where I’m staying for several weeks.  I know that many people do Colonia as a daytrip from BA, but I’m so glad that I chose to spend the night.  Posada Plaza Mayor takes you back in time to help you really feel the history of Colonia.  They have done a wonderful job in updating the hotel to make it modern, while keeping many elements of the original building for its charm.  The bathroom is totally modern.  Great toiletries. The breakfast was upstairs with a view of the river."

"The rooms are very comfortable. This is a very nice hotel, clearly underrated with 2 stars. The staff was super kind and helpful. There is room for improvement in breakfast, it was really poor. Just vending machine coffee, a few fruits and some pastry. No options for keto or low carb diets. No other infusions."
