"To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from a hotel in a village like Chau doc, and I was super skeptical with my 2 American spoilt kids who expect nothing but the best. "There is a great write up in the recent Lonely Planet Guide about Murray Guesthouse being a wonderful addition to the Chau Doc accommodation options... a great guest lounge, roof terrace, bar, pool table and great breakfast. Sadly no longer... none of these exists! Instead we had a poor welcome, accusing us of having cancelled, the bedside lights didn't work, our friend had no toilet paper or a toilet that flushed. It is very cheap to stay there and it is clean, but that is it."

"The Victoria is a wonderful hotel in Chau Doc. It is very convenient for travelers between Cambodia and Vietnam using a boat as transportation. The staff es kind, helpful and very professional. Saying that, I think that is also important to highlight that Chau Doc is a very interesting city to visit because of its diversity and magnificent scenery by the river. The Victoria Hotel will meet the expectations of the most exigent traveler. I highly recommend this hotel."

"Nice view of the valley below. Services are imprectable. Each room is separate from the other thus very quite. Restaurant has selection of Vietnamese and European dishes. Very tasty. Good breakfast selections. You need to try the iced Vietnamese coffee"
