The real treasure here is Rosella, the 79-year-old hotel owner and fifth-generation hotelier. She’s a triathlete, martial artist, yoga enthusiast, and—believe it or not—recently biked across India. Rosella still works every day, making sure the hotel and adjacent restaurant are run with care, warmth, and an incredible sense of tradition. She embodies the spirit of hospitality and heritage. Rooms are cozy and full of character, the atmosphere is peaceful, and the location is perfect for exploring the lake, the Grotte di Catullo, and the charming old town. Breakfast was fresh and served with genuine warmth—just like everything else here. If you’re looking for a hotel with heart, history, and a host you’ll never forget, Filminia is the place. "Excellent quality and value We have stayed here twice now the breakfast is fantastic, indoor pool and spa are lovely. Just wish the outside pool and sun loungers overlooking Lake Garda were open, the explanation I got was it was to early in the Season and they will open in May. For the British like myself the weather was ideal and at around 21/22 degrees the Outdoor spaces should have been open. Thanks a lovely stay otherwise 👍"

"My husband and I had an amazing stay here. The food was great, the staff was friendly, they offered us lots of snacks and plenty of water in our rooms, daily housekeeping, just all in all a great experience. We got married at Isola del Garda, just a 30 minute boat ride from the dock behind the hotel which was convenient. The asthetic of the property was very elegant, old money luxury. We loved the heated outdoor pool for when the sun was out, and we enjoyed the indoor spa and heated pool for when it rained. The only complaints I have is that the area isn't very walkable, and the taxis are insanely high priced. We had the hotel call us a taxi to go about 16 minutes up the street and back & paid 75€. Insane. Public transportation is the only thing that makes sense in Italy unless you're on a splurge. "

"We really enjoyed our stay here. We were happy with the staff, the hotel the food and the room. Our only complaint is that there weren't any plugs on either side of the bed. My husband sleeps with a cpap machine and has to have electrical outlets to operate his machine"
