"easy checkin, lovely room, immaculate All staff friendly and willing to make your stay as best it can be . We stayed on a Sunday evening, food service finished too early for us to take advantage and be aware bar closes early too. Breakfast was wonderful. Overall would recommend staying just check serving times for your stay."

"Anything you read about the property being a bit dated... It is indeed true. But honestly, the place is perfectly fine! The beds were comfy, the place is clean, the staff are absolutely lovely. If I paid more I would expect more, but the price is good value I think! Especially given the small spa facilities. "

"If I had to find a criticism it would be for the glass door in bathroom in ground floor bedroom!! Nobody needs a glass door to the shower and toilet!!"

"It was perfect for us - easy to get to and a great stop off on our way south. I know they are planning to upgrade all the rooms but ours was clean and cosy and just what was needed for a quick overnight. Althought to be fair we could have stayed alot longer as the pub was just as we would want an old English pub to be - traditional and modern. Oak furniture, fireplace,wee nooks, centuries of history and many chiming clocks...as well as all the things a good modern pub should have. We missed pub food as we were late checking in( rang ahead but late arrival was no prob ..not least cos the rooms are in several outside stone building conversions), but breakfast was great - landlord and bar staff friendly and up for a chat. The guinness was great and Inches on draught ! We had a really really lovely brief stay - unexpectedly so and so good that we will def go back. The menu looked great also. The photos dont do the place justice, but dont tell, as then everyone will want to stay there ; )"
