"Enjoyed my two-night stay at The Alan. The room was spacious and beautifully designed. Bed and sofa both really comfortable. There were some ups and downs with the service - breakfast on our first day was borderline shambolic, though on day two it was great. Our room was not properly cleaned (bed was made but tea/coffee not replenished and bins not emptied). This was made worse by their ‘WhatsApp the reception desk’ concept where we then asked for the tea/coffee to be replenished, were told...

"Staff were very friendly...I arrived very early & they were still able to check me in, which was beyond Wonderful. Room was nice, bed was comfortable, plenty of hot water...yes, the room was quite small, but it worked for me. Tram stop for St. Peter's was directly in front of hotel and there were usually taxis parked across the street. Unlikely that I will return to Manchester, but I would definitely stay here again if I ever do."

"Second time I’ve stayed here. Rooms are a good size and clean with a decent size tv, bathroom and showers are good. Staff friendly, love the 2pm check in time Not a far walk from the trainstation which is handy if you have an early train the next day. "

"Nice hotel if lacking a bit of character. Room was ok. It was facing the main road so a bit noisy - no chance of a lie in if you wanted one especially on the Monday. Very comfortable bed and very clean. A little on the cold side for my liking but was offered extra blankets if I wanted. The bathroom was really quite cold even with the heated rail on. Staff very friendly. Facilities are good and clean. The food at the restaurant was above standard - some very nice dishes. Breakfast was fine -...
