if you will be driving or taking trains, then perfect. Otherwise, 20 min walk to the center. Heating works just OK, but automatic function switches on too late, and off to late. Not very pleasant if you will spend long time in the room.

We came up to Manchester from Cornwall as a family to watch City play. The hotel is in a great location. Staff really friendly and welcoming. Parking was great we paid £25 for overnight parking. They let us check in early when we arrived to drop bags off. Easy walking distance to the city and Ethiad. Room spacious for a family and good breakfast the kids breakfasts were complimentary which was good. We will definitely book again next time.

Staff very friendly and hotel is clean. However do not expect to get a good nights sleep if you have a room with a connecting door as you hear everything from the room all hours of the night and is a real invasion of privacy. There was also a fault with the lighting system cutting out after 15 minutes in the room leaving you in total darkness and wondering around in pitch black. Staff were very friendly and polite but advise against if travelling for business as you will not get a good nights sleep.

The was Marriott chance to make up for the treble night I spent there before an early morning flight the next day. On arrival I was told that I had been allocated an executive room on the 8th floor which also gave me access to the M Lounge, to be honest when checking in I was so tired due to delayed flights/trains and also not feeling very well I didn’t take in what the receptionist was telling me. The room was spacious if a little dated and certain parts were not to the highest cleaning standards and - one of my pet hates, room service trays left outside both side of my room with food left on them, I hate this as it will attract all sorts of vermin. I tried to ring reception but as per my previous visit no one answered the phone so I mentioned it on my way out into town to pick up an order from a shop. When I got back it was still there and didn’t get collected till gone 1am, how can housekeeping staff miss this if the room has been serviced ready for my stay. I did venture into the M Lounge which was very nice with a wide selection of drinks and snacks and a very helpful young man in there to direct you. As I was feeling very unwell at this point I got some water and went back to my room. I have to give credit for the beds and pillows in the room, I sleep from about 9pm until awoken by housekeeping clearing the room service trays at approx 1am, however went back to sleep again and this time didn’t wake up until almost 10am, my breakfast was also in the M Lounge and was good

The car park is set at the back of the hotel and not the easiest to find. Once did very secure parking for car Lovely clean and spacious room Definitely would recommend

You have to pay for parking £25, which is crazy. The TV does not have YouTube or Netflix. The rooms do not come with toothpaste or toothbrush. And to top it all off they do not provide complimentary water. I was not impressed by the Marriott Hotel, expected better for the price I paid.

First impressions, it felt like a step down from when it was the McDonald Hotel, however, rooms were spacious and clean, no info in room about room service menus and I could see if there was an option on the TV to scan. Area around hotel felt unsafe in day time so I was loath to go back out at night for something to eat. As I had to be up at 3am to get to the airport by 4.20am I opted for an early night, had just dropped off when a rowdy party of me returned to the room next to mine, as these rooms had interconnected doors they kept trying to open it and even though I knew it was locked as a female traveller I didn’t at all feel safe, there are no phones in the room to call reception. They played music so loud they had to shout at each other when having a conversation. This was still going on at 01:57 and I found the hotels phone number on my booking and tried calling reception, no one answered. I told this to the receptionist when I was checking out and told her I was due to spend a further night there on 6 Jan, she advised she would speak to her manager. I will wait and see if there is any follow up from management. I am really loath to return but as it was a non refundable rate I will have to. Marriot needs to up its game. I will in future go back to using Motel One. So tired when I reached my holiday destination I have forgone my evening meal (paid for in room rate) in an attempt to get some sleep so I can enjoy NYE tomorrow. Very disappointed.
