"We are genuinely puzzled by some very harsh negative reviews. Yes, the hotel could do with some TLC but it needs to be compared to its Canarian competitors in the same price range. And there we find it good value. We again found it clean enough, bedding and towels changed regularly and with plenty to eat, Large rooms with private balconies nearly all with Sea/Pool views. We had a few maintenance issues, all of which were resolved quickly with the longest taking 48 hours. Food included roast joints, many species of fish, stroganoff, lots of salads, fruit etc. Being mid Atlantic, we would particularly encourage people to try all the varieties of fish even if you have never heard of them. Cost a fortune in UK. Admittedly they are not so good at chips. The staff are friendly and helpful, almost family. Sometimes though they are very busy, there can be 800 guests all wanting breakfast at the same time. They cater to guests from all over Europe so not all the staff are English fluent. Pick quieter times and double check they do understand your English. We tend to use a lot of cliches, idioms and sometimes say “can you” when we mean “will you”. Noise pretty much goes by 11.30pm although the Ents team will get louder as the older winter crowd are replaced by the summer families. Yes, the Spa needs some work but closing it would be a big impact on the guests for that month. Unlike mainland hotels, this hotel is nearly full all year round. And a shout out to Ellis"

"We stayed here on a 4 day trip, 2 adults, Thursday - Monday Room has no air conditioning and had a whiff of sewer.. Food is awful and is often cold, even when the restaurant has just opened. Food is repeated for 3-4 meal times in various forms The sunbeds are locked until 10 - however they are unlocked about 9.45 or so.. but in lieu of sunbeds being reserved the chairs from the pool bar are moved into the spots people want and then exchanged for sunbeds when they're unlocked.. other guests had complained to reception about the quality of the food and were told that there are restaurants a short walk from the hotel if they didn't like the food. The evening entertainment is twice a week on Sunday and Thursday - again this may be because we are just out of season but on the evenings in between there is bingo, but this is paid at €5 each. The pool bar looks nothing like pictures that appear on the booking sites.. they serve a couple cocktails but there is nothing saying about them, we had to ask.. the snacks are rolls made from the ones that were out for breakfast and a few pastries, also from breakfast - and once they're gone they're gone. Pictures on the booking site are dated add lie hotel does not look like this any more. Sorry to say we won't be returning"
