"Everything was perfect. The only thing I would like to mention is that the receptionist only recommended their transportation when we wanted to head out to town instead of giving us the option between their transportation and Uber. Their transportation fee was $28 plus tax and Uber was $7. Other than that, this is a really great resort. The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, and the views are AMAZING! "Overall I was very happy with the resort despite a couple of hiccups. The property itself is really beautiful. We stayed in unit 209 and have a fabulous view of the volcano and overlooked a grade with beautiful flowers. Nice private patio with 2 rocking chairs. The resort itself has flowers everywhere and the pool, thermals and restaurants are all in close walking distance. Con was problems with A/C and we had to call 4 different times (same day) to get it to finally be fixed (and even then...

"Sorry had bad experience in restaurant waiter delivers our food to wrong table than took it back then 5 mins later he brought to our table same plates food was cold and they took mine back pretty sure they microwaved my plate it was obvious absolutely aweful if you eat here order the bar food they didn’t mess up pizza and wings the next night waiter offered free drink for the previous nights mistake what a joke "

"Nice new hotel. Comfortable and clean. We were not happy with the arrangement for pick-up at the airport. No listing for HGI although other hotels were named on signage; we had multiple people trying to hustle us to take rides with them. Thankfully HGI shuttle driver eventually showed up and explained to us that he'd be back soon to pick us up (the hustlers kept saying (lying) that it would take 45 mins for him to return). "Really felt like staying in the rainforest, but with excellent food and service. Villa was very private. Not a wildlife preserve, but we did see monkeys, a mom and baby sloth, birds, and lizards on the expansive property. The geothermal pools and the use of all 3 Nayara restaurants and facilities were major plusses that probably aren't emphasized enough."

"Pros: VERY VERY nice hotel with multiple large superb hot spring pools that are easy to hang around in for hours. Also multiple pools that are not heated. Restaurants and breakfast very good. Grounds are enormous with their walking paths and lots and lots of fauna/orchids. Amenities all round are very good. Drive the volcano road on the property itself for the best view in all Arenal of the volcano!!!! Rooms very large and comfortable. Easy drive to town and the national parks. We would book again! Cons: Make sure you do NOT get booked near the new construction - they should not be booking rooms that close!!. This was literally 10 feet from our room and we spent 30mins getting it changed. Rooms have just 2 power outlets for the entire room - bring power adapter. Some Hotel rooms are 50 yds up a very steep hill. Not an issue for us but would be for elderly and if you have to lug large suitcases. "

"This property is amazing because the rooms back up to Arenal volcano. In the morning, we had incredible birdwatching and were able to even see toucans. It’s walkable into town, approximately 2 km. But there are many dining options along the way. My husband and I are vegan and were very happy with our choices. The restaurant in hotel Magic Mountain offered a few vegan options as well. The staff were very helpful and Carlos, at the front desk, arranged tours for us. Would highly recommend if you’re looking for a combination of remote feel and walking distance to dining and shopping."

"My boyfriend and I stayed for three nights in the family suite and we had an amazing time. We saw the volcano right from our room each morning. The pools were amazing and clean, the staff were friendly and helpful. The food and drink were delicious. Highly recommend for a romantic or family getaway"
