"More shabby than chic, I nevertheless soon became quite enamoured of my humble little room on the first floor. These prices were often a third of the travelodge. Is Schmotel three times worse than travelodge? No it’s a different thing. I was therefore pleased that there were no ghosts or Frankensteins and no poo on the wall or ceiling, and nobody with loud and evil intent anywhere in the seven blessed rooms. "

"£100 in Brighton on a Saturday night I wasn’t expecting loads but was very impressed. Good size room. Modern bathroom. And I was even able to early check in at 11.55am so very pleased. "Lady in charge gave us a room on ground floor because she could see my husband had a bad leg. Room was lovely and clean and warm with a view of pretty garden.
