"We had an incredible stay here, highly recommend. Family home, staff are attentive and responsive and very helpful. Unbelievable views from the balcony overlooking the Douro river and the valley. Rooms are spacious and clean, bathroom was giant and parking behind a gated fence so very secure and safe. Great breakfast that comes included and nice lounge area to relax in over a glass of their welcome port. Overall, we loved our time and would absolutely be back."

"Covelo-Original is exactly what a small guesthouse should be. Our stay was perfect. The Covelo is in the heart of old town and steps away from restaurants and just over the bridge is the religious centre. The room had everything needed (fridge, kettle, coffeemaker, all of which aren’t common in a POR room). The bed was incredibly comfortable and the building has been renovated and modernized yet maintains both original and quirky charm. Staff are amazing and they go the extra step providing...

"This property was part of a trip we took to get a sense of what Portugal is like. It is away from the large Cities and perched on the side of a mountain with a beautiful view of the Douro River far below. All the mountains in the area are terraced for agriculture and housing and the roads are very narrow, often limited to one vehicle which can lead to complications if you meet head on.
