Kimpton Hotel Monaco Washington DC, an IHG Hotel

4.5 star property
8.6 out of 10, Excellent, (1003)
"The hotel is hit or miss. Much depends on the room you get. Some are supposedly wonderful and large. Some are in basement (what they call 1st floor) with limited windows. Ours was ok, clearly an office that had been converted, with a bathroom built into the room, which looked odd and created an L shape. Some of the windows were covered by a massive headboard. In all it felt a bit thoughtlessly put together. Not sure it's worth the price, esp with the $30/day amenity fee they tack on (which I had...

"We brought our teenagers up to DC for some great food and cultural experiences after Christmas. Location was amazing: walked to Smithsonian, high end shopping (Dior, Chanel, Hermes, etc), and some great restaurants. Staff was amazingly cheerful and helpful, hotel restaurant was solid. Would definitely return."

Global Luxury Suites at The Convention Center

4.0 star property
8.4 out of 10, Very Good, (73)
"The photos are nothing like where you'll be staying, there was a single towel in the unit, blinds didn't work, small dining table, uncomfortable bed, overpriced, took me 2 hours to get into my unit upon arrival... they don't have anyone on site, so contacted their customer service and they proposed 10% off a future stay - they give this to anyone just for signing up on their website, so it wasn't really an offer at all. Will not ever stay here again!!!"
