"OK I want to leave a fair review. First of all you have to follow all the provided instruction or you are not getting in. When you enter in the ground floor it's a bit scary but don't be alarmed. You will have to go to the 3rd fl there is no elevator with bags this may be a challenge for some. Staff is nice and helpful. Once you get to the 3rd fl where the rooms are things look good. Buildings are hundreds of years old so keep this in mind. Rooms are clean and decent. Negatives are, limited...

"Property right in the canal. Huge room with large bathroom. Great location just a bit tricky to find. Green door over a tiny bridge. Ring the bell and they will be there to check you in. Very happy with our stay! Nice coffee shop right across the street. "

"This was a wonderful place to stay in Venice. Only 5 minutes and maybe 2 bridges away from the Rialto Bridge, and only about 10 minutes from St. Mark's - could not have been a better location. Generally a very quiet area, although the Manin square is Right There! Many options for dining and shopping, and you can get a gondola right at the square. Vaporetto only about 2 blocks away. Excellent accommodations, very clean, and great staff."

"The room provided plenty of space to move around and was very comfortable. We even had a balcony. The location was walking distance to all major attractions. The staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. We had continental breakfast delivered every morning and it was included. I would definitely recommend Al Portico Guest house for your stay in Venice. "

"Liked that it was a great area close to St Marks Square and Rialto bridge. Many places to eat and shop. No elevator, but we had first floor which had steps to get into hallway to our room but not a problem."

"Beautiful small property with visually stunning touches. It's a somewhat unusual mix of a boutique hotel and an Airbnb, e.g. no front desk or maid service. Fantastic base for us to explore Venice for a few days. Centrally located with a 10-15 minute walk to St. Mark's and the Rialto, 5-10 minute walk to water taxi services, 20-25 minute walk to the train station and automobile pickups. Also, the restaurant right next door, Hostaria Bacanaria, was one of the best meals of our whole trip."

"Clean and spacious. Not sure if someone got confused but someone tried to get into the room early hours in the morning staff were really nice and friendly. Great location with lots of bars, restaurants and cafes on your doorstep. "

"Nice hotel, newly renovated and clean. There is no reception but staff are on hand via Whatsapp. Cleaner lady was very nice and helpful. Good room although air con didn't work. That was OK for our trip March/April time but in summer would be tough without it. Area around hotel is very good and quieter than other parts of Venice."
