"The hotel has just been renovated and you can really tell, everything was beautiful and fresh. The room was lovely, roomy and the bed was very comfortable and it was a pleasant surprise to have a mini-bar with complimentary drinks included. The stay comes with a complimentary wine tasting and I'd recommend taking this, Tyson was so knowledgeable and passionate. We had a LOT of wine tastings while in Stellenbosch and Franschoek and this was the most informative one we had. The breakfast was amazing, a lovely cold spread with a great selection of hot foods and really nice coffee. We didn't eat in the main restaurant as we'd booked a local fine-dining restaurant months in advance and were fine-dining-ed out so went to Vadas, the smokehouse within the hotel grounds for the other night. This is a 5 min stroll and was fantastic, really good smokehouse food with brilliant waiting staff and of course, great wine. The grounds are fantastic for exploring and the pool is a lovely place to while away a few hours with an extensive and well priced food, cocktail and wine list. We would (and hopefully will!) happily return"

"Loved our stay at Aquila! We stayed in the family room which was very spacious & had a patio area outside. All the food was lovely with a big selection from the buffet. We had African wood massages in the spa and used their facilities which were lovely. The grounds are big and spacious and you can sometimes see animals from your windows But of course the best bit were the safaris, we loved the drives seeing all the animals in the reserve my mum also swapped one of the drives for a horse riding safari which she enjoyed. Would definitely recommend staying here for atleast 2 nights "

"This is luxury personified. Stunning views, wonderful rooms with the option to stay in bespoke accommodation. Such as a private pool or hot tub options. There is simply no better view on the Helshgoote Pass. Staff were extremely helpful with nice touches to enhance guests stay throughout. This is a high end luxury hotel with a relaxed atmosphere we will definitely be returning."

"This hotel is a fantastic base for a visit to the wine region. The hotel is a short drive from Franschhoek with the hotel providing an excellent shuttle bus service. The staff could not be any more friendly or obliging if they tried and we really felt at home here. The only gripe is that the pool beds are not that comfortable but otherwise this a hotel I would highly recommend and will definitely stay there again."
