"Wonderful views from this hilltop hotel, but it's a long, steep walk back from the beaches! We took the hotel bus down to the beach and walked back after spending some time at the port. It's isolated, but there's a free bus from/to Toyohashi Station. The breakfast and dinner buffets are great, and much of the hotel has been recently renovated. Unfortunately they have changed the afternoon times for the onsen so that women have access to their part at 3pm but men from 5pm, which we found...

"Nice resort. Bikes for use. Lovely hot spa. Pool wasnt opened. We visited in off season so only the buffet restaurant open. Would have liked just a drink and a snack. Im sure plenty available during peak season. Nothing else in the area. Walked on the beach. A lot of rubbish had washed up from the sea. Overall a bit disappointing."

"Service is good. From the reception to the bell boy to the restaurant staff. The male manager at the breakfast reception is always bright and courteous every morning. Club room is super worth it since there’s food throughout the day with yummy cheesecakes etc. There’s even free flow liquor available. The club room is pretty and nicely renovated. We loved our stay at TOBA we stayed 3 nights"

"This is a hidden gem that I literally stumbled upon. This area is famous for agriculture so the food was sourced locally and amazing. The staff is international so even if you don't speak much Japanese you will be fine. It is peaceful and fun to walk around the area. "As previous guests note, twenty five minutes from Toba station. As such, no restaurants or stores aside from in the hotel, but plenty of beautiful scenery. I didn’t have the dinner option due to price and instead brought take out from the local food shop (Marche) near the station, but fully enjoyed the lavish spread of fresh foods (fruits and veggies, too) and view of the bay. My room was spacious and new (532) and the indoor pool and outdoor jacuzzi were well-maintained and I could do laps...

"The indoor and outdoor onsen provide different experiences of onsen. The view from hotel is amazing. The hotel provides excellent service. My mom fell to the ground and got injured when crossing street. The lady from hotel provides us ice bag and medicines for my mom. They are super helpful."

"This property is old, not very clean and heavily over priced. Buffet dinner and breakfast are a very poor firm if service. Check out via a ticket machine must be to most un Japanese and infuriating system we have come across in thirthy years travel in Japan."

"The staff treated me so well. Working with me even with a language barrier. After a few weeks of the Tokyo and Osaka life, that place was a slice of heaven, my only regret was not staying longer. The baths were nice, the place was super clean. Transportation to get there is a bit difficult, but that I think is what makes this place attractive, since it's in such a nice, quiet part of Japan. Going there during the Sakura season was amazing too. "

"Good value. Perfect for family vacation (5 in our family). We arrived late (7PM) called ahead and staff welcomed us. Free on site parking. They don't speak English but are friendly. Room was non smoking and had no odor. But smoking is allowed in the hallways. In room bath is clean but old. After checking in, found Kura Sushi (kaiten style-inexpensive) 4 minutes walk! "This was not a traditional-style onsen and not what I was expecting. (No yukata, no welcome treats.) It has been recently renovated, and the rooms are clean, modern (meaning we had enough outlets for all our electronics), nicely decorated, and very comfortable. Staff spoke English so communication was simple. Lounge had 24-hr water and coffee machine. Didn’t have dinner there, but did have breakfast and it was delicious! Served kaiseki style, attentive and polite wait staff. Thankfully hotel was super responsive and quick communicating thru the Expedia app, which made using the shuttle van very easy. (Would be a challenging walk to/fm train station.) Lovely place and would stay again if we ever return to Toba."

"We booked this property as a layover for a roadtrip from Tokyo to Osaka, but we were pleasantly surprised by the property and the whole town. If we had time, we would’ve extended our stay. The bathhouse was very nice feature with long open hours. The beach was very nice, too. Not many dining options outside of the property. We found two izakaya places but the food options were not that good. If we come back to japan, we will definitely stay here again."
