"Amazing property! The rooms, the design, the view, everything is great! One of the reception staff (with short hair) was very nice but the rest was rather cold which felt a bit odd. The pool is great, however pool staff allows guests to smoke (weed) in the pool which would put off some of the guests. A shame really but we had overall a great time. "

"It was not as nice in reality as in the pictures. It was OK though. Basically clean. The light in the bathroom did not work. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I slept very well there. The area was inconvenient, far away from the centre of town, so that you are dependent on taxis to get around. The taxi drivers are good though and charged a fair price. I never felt ripped off by them. While the area did not feel overtly unsafe, it was pretty grungey, not the best part of town. Were I to visit Bacalar again, I'd probably look for somewhere else to stay because of this hotel's isolated location. "
