"The property was perfectly located by the lake surrounded by nature and within walking distance to buses, the ropeway and cruise ships. Our twin room with open air bath was exceptionally clean and our room, along with the rest of the property, had all the amenities you needed, of a high standard. The only downside were the meals. Being a little isolated, the accommodation rate includes a breakfast and dinner buffet, however despite the extensive menu, they fail to provide any hot vegetable dishes… not ideal for non meat eaters. Regardless, we still recommend a stay at this beautiful spot on the lake."

"What an excellent space for a quiet vacation. It's a bit far from shopping but they have free shuttle to go to Gora station or to Sounzan station. Room is spacious in the newer annex building. A little pricey but it is luxurious."

"Staying at the Fujiya was an incredible experience, from the very beginning to the very end. The hotel itself is stunning and exudes luxury and history. The staff go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. The dining is superb - 2 best meals I’ve ever had. One was Japanese Wagyu dinner in their amazing Japanese restaurant, the other was a continental breakfast (I really wanted to have a meal in the other dining room, but the meal itself turned out to be incredible too, with many delightful little surprises). I hope to come back one day and spend more time at the incredible Fujiya."

"This was a top-notch accommodation which exceeded all our expectations. The room was spacious and very comfortable. The dining options were spectacular. The attention to detail in the service and the range of complimentary snacks and drinks at the lobby were amazing as well. We especially loved the onsen, which was the highlight of our trip - the outdoor onsen with views of the garden lit up at night was simply bedazzling. The shuttle buses running to and fro Gora Station made transportation relatively accessible, and we found the location of the property quite central to the different spots we wanted to visit. In short, I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for a fantastic stay in Hakone. "
