"we were surprised at how big the houseboat was, uitgeest is a lovely place and the view of the lake and sky was stunning. the only little annoyances were: - there was no lamp in the living area and the lighting was a bit too bright - there was a toaster oven instead of a toaster - we had to make the beds ourselves which i'm perfectly willing to do in a hostel but don't really want to do when we're paying hundreds of pounds and have had no sleep on the journey there (also the bedding and towels were in shrink wrapped plastic which was weird and seemed very unnecessary) - the door to the bedroom and bathroom opened into each other - the communication was a bit confusing, we got quick replies during the booking process but not when we were trying to find out more about checking in. i don't think we were speaking to the company that provide the boats but the company who rent them for them. also we were under the impression that we'd be a bit closer to the train station than we actually were, if we'd known that in advance we'd have planned more local activities instead of travelling into amsterdam to visit museums etc i would stay here again though"

"The Hotel Leonardo Hotel IJmuiden Seaport Beach was a bit out of the way unless you are leaving from the cruise port. That being said, the staff were all wonderful and accommodating, easy to work with and always with a smile. The waiters and the dining room Manager were friendly and easy to speak to. Everyone was very informed about the area and options available, unfortunately unless you rent a car, there were not many. We only stayed one night, before our cruise departure so we had a lovely relaxing night on the patio overlooking the boat harbor. Our rooms were clean, spacious and well stocked. The walls are thick enough, you cannot hear the neighbors and the included breakfast was wonderful and fresh. We would stay there again any time our cruise leaves from that port. "

"I cannot say enough good things about the hotel and staff. It was a nice, clean facility with breakfast included. The staff went over and beyond in facilitating my late check-in due to plane delays/Re-routing. They also were very helpful in coordinating taxis the next morning. Great, great staff! "
