"I love the decorations especially the sculptures. The room is okay, not fancy like they show in the pictures, I believe that one is a presidential suit. My ordinary room is not very different than any other hotel. The check in desk is not very obviously located. I arrived at night and couldn't find it at the first glance. There's no sign indicating the checkin desk and the hotel carry two names, the sign shows a name different than what Expedia shows me. The entrance looks glorious however...

"Clean rooms. Centrally located in Alfama. Unique charm with a bit of history. Nice staff. Cost paid on wotif doesn’t include city tax, was about 60 euros due at check out. Well worth the price for central location and high quality hotel. Daily temporary hold on card, small amounts that should be refunded after check out. "

"The posada is a historic building. The hotel has its age yet is kept well. Beds were good, so was the breakfast. Most recognition goes to the staff who were very nice and helpful in terms e.g. where to eat. Good location also for trips to Cascais, Sintra or Lisbon. "

"It’s a real treat staying here. What a fun place to stay, a hotel that is part of a 15th C castle. The facilities are great. The tavern on the property had excellent food. The rooms are spacious and very nice. "
