"Three generations of family. Loved watching the sun rise from all rooms. Having the beach all to ourselves and it being just over the dune was perfect. The stroll over the dune can be challenging if you have any problem with walking or breathing. House had everything we needed"

Short walk to the beach, Great Shelling at Marker 25 just a short drive away, Most Businesses were closed and town was slow ( Aw GEEZ NO PEOPLE ON THE BEACH ) as we were here over Christmas! "We had a great time at the outer banks. The house was located far enough from busy Kill Devil Hills to be quiet and relaxing and close enough if we wanted to head into town. We enjoyed our stay and would absolutely return. "

"We chose this house because we weren't sure of the weather in October. The movie theater room was a big hit with all the kids, and the pool table was a hit for the adults. We loved having bedrooms and bathrooms on all the floors, and the kids loved staying together in the bunk bedroom. The walk to the beach was a breeze, and it was nice to be able to have our own pool since the waves were pretty wild while we were there. Communication and check-in/out were a breeze. Dollar General and Waves Market and Deli are right up the road, which came in handy. It was a great experience. "

"Such a cute beach house! The owner Pam hasn't missed a thing in making your stay comfortable. She communicated with us regularly and is such a lovely person! The house is cute and comfortable and decorated with a fun, relaxed vibe. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need. The outdoor decks are well crafted and look brand new. They provided us with some nice outdoor areas to hang out. The house is a block away from the beach and a quick walk. It was so nice to be able to bring our dog. Pam has provided everything you'd need for your dog including dog bowls, extra leashes and even dog tags with the house address in the event your dog gets loose. We appreciated such thoughtful attention to detail. She is clearly a dog lover. We really enjoyed our stay at the Salvo Sandbox and will definitely be coming back to this adorable beach cottage. "

"Overall our vacation was a 5, but this house is more like a 3. The property has great potential, but has not been maintained. The pool was fantastic, but was surrounded by weeds and included a pile of broken and rusted pool toys. The pool loungers(3) were all broken and unusable. It was nice to have direct access to the beach, a short walk over the dunes for a day in the sand. However, the fence door was not secure and with a dog and small child, this was a concern. The host was informed and was responsive, but the issue was not resolved. The house itself worked out great for our group with plenty of room to spread out inside and out. It could have been cleaner(walls and floors) and just needed more attention to details like clogged bathtubs and broken blinds. With a little effort, this property could easily be a 5. "
