"Quiet area, big rooms, nice staff, 10 min walk from Lo chak pier, where you have 4 boats leaving for Phuket town each day (400 bhat). Mosquitos come and go though, as there is an open solution in the bathroom. Rooms were a bit basic as well, but for the price I paid, it was fine. "

"Hotel lovely but a bit of a norse having to go up and down seep hill from the room after novelty wore off. Loved the free massage before breakfast & the breakfast room & food really good whatever your taste. Main pool fabulous! Beach would have been much better if they did a bit of a sweep up/rake first thing like some hotels do… beach was so much nicer at the hotel next door (?). There are some shops and nice little local restaurants just up the road off the end of the beach. Very good overall...

"We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Sunrise. It's a family run small business and they really make you feel welcome and included. Our bungalow was immaculate and well appointed........ with a sea view too. No pool but easy walk to to swim at high tide. Would definitely recommend staying there."

"My husband and I had an amazing time at SAMSAM. The staffs that SAMSAM is super friendly and super responsive. The food by SAMSAM is absolutely delicious! The resort is located in a great area, and near by is walkable beach and local cafe and restaurants! The resort also offers bike rentals and scooter rental for fee which allowed us to explore the island! I would highly recommend SAMSAM :) "

"We stayed 3 quiet nights in a bungalow. We liked the location but note that the location indicated on Expedia google maps is incorrect. The location is near Khao Pier on the east side of the island. One of the best restaurants ‘Sea Gypsy’ is located across the street. It is great value and serves the best breakfast lunch and dinner. "The gym was hard to find and had no a/c, dining was limited, had a deck bar that was not open that we saw. Our room was as expected, clean and the private pool access was such a nice treat. The maid service was five star. This property has loads of potential waiting to be met. "

"Amazing hidden gem! Not for everybody, but if you are looking for peace and tranquility, this is your place. Excellent service, excellent breakfast prepared to order. Beautiful setting and environment. I can’t say enough great things about the staff. Not for everybody because this is indoor/outdoor living. Kitchen, dining area and several common areas are all open areas. Bedrooms are closed off and air-conditioned. Swimming pool is lovely. Overall amazing!"

"I cannot say enough about this property. The food was the best I ever had and the staff were absolutely wonderful. I had 2 spa treatments and I wanted to take the cook and the masseuse home with me. Nancy coordinated all my transportation. She was terrific. I felt at home"

"Lovely property. Rooms were clean and offered all the amenities. Pool bar had no alcohol which made me a bit sad. I had to walk to a nearby 7-11. Location is far from tourist spots. Grab app is essential!"

"This is not a 5 star hotel. This should be 10 stars! This hotel is an easy 100 on a scale of 1-10. Yes, I can find flaws like food options for lunch or dinner and the cost of everything but believe me this might be one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in and I tend to go to luxury hotels all the time . This is another level of luxury. "

"We had a great time at this beautiful place. The amenities are amazing and made our stay very comfortable. We loved the pools, the beach, our son really enjoyed his time at the kids club. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. They booked our transportation to Phi Phi island for us and they offer free shuttle service to the old town and Patong beach. The only negatives for us would be, the hotel restaurants are a bit overpriced and the exterior is getting run-down."

"Older property but rooms that we stayed at were beautifully updated. Grounds with two pools were gorgeous. Service was wonderful. The breakfast buffet plentiful and varied. The on site resort restaurants were quite good although I would not recommend the beef. Beach was wonderfully clean and private. "

"Loved our stay at Varana Hotel in Krabi. The staff was amazing. The hotel is gorgeous and quiet. We were looking for a bit more quiet and relaxing stay and that's exactly what we got. The food at the restaurants is great. You have to walk accross the street to get to the beach which is gorgeous. The water is shallow so you're able to walk to a small island. Would definitely stay here again."

"Excellence. The accommodations, the food, the staff, the property, and views, all were unbelievable. Could not recommend enough. Thank you! I will be returning. One last add, Freya, at reception, went out of her way, to simplify my journey to Phuket. She contacted both ferry company and taxi company on my behalf, making necessary adjustments, which made my life much much easier. Thank you Freya! I really appreciate it."

"Beautiful property right on the ocean. Very friendly staff. Great service. Excellent food. Just great views from every spot. We had a private pool in our villa - one evening we were drinking Champagne in a regular tall glass by the pool, didn’t bother to request a flute. Next day, our housekeeper noticed that and brought us flutes without us asking- that’s called service!!"
