"The hostel was nice and clean. It is close to Rossio square and walking distance to many attractions. Unfortunately the street outside the hostel is noisy with drinks and is a little sketchy. I felt safe as I was with my partner. I may have felt differently if I was traveling alone. "

The conditions of the hotel did not matched the images ad descriptions provided in hotel.com, and I was extremely disappointed with my experience. "It’s a budget hostel to meet your basic needs. I stayed in 2nd floor, where I don’t have any problem at all. It depends on which toilet you use but bring hand soap with you. If you like to prepare your own food, you might need to bring your own utensils and dishes, you might also need to bring a pan for you to cook. I bought one near to the next block, they are not that expensive. There are many stores around it, and very close to the train station. Also, not far from the airport. "

" We purposely were looking for a property with old style charm rather than the typical big box/big brand modern hotels, and we definitely found that at Torel. We loved the property and our welcome host, Nicholas (I believe his name was), gave us one off the best welcome tours we have ever had. He’s a superstar. His energy, overview of the property, and overall service was amazing. One of his recommendations was the onsite Michelin restaurant, which he was able to get us into, and had an stunning culinary experience. When we return to Lisbon, we will absolutely stay again. The location, service, charm, and food was all perfect. We're very discerning travelers and was blown away with the experience. "
