"Very nice hotel, room was nice with everything you would need and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay again without a doubt. The only negative was the sofa bed. I think they need vast improvement as it was extremely uncomfortable with next to no padding. This unfortunately resulted in a poor sleep. That being said, i would still happily return, i would just reserve 2 rooms rather than sharing."

"Nice and interesting hotel at a competitive cost - friendly staff - room was clean and smart but a bit warm and fan/air con didn’t work - breakfast display was good but not special (didn’t have any cooked options though so can’t comment on those) - I would go back but as I say, it didn’t feel as special as it could have done"

"The room we had booked had a rusty bath and so had to move rooms. Unsure as to why the room was booked out in this condition as it was clearly in a poor state. Apart from that the staff were very pleasant and accommodating and it was no trouble changing. "

"Overall I had a lovely stay, there were a few things that I feel need to be improved on, The pool was cold across all 3 days meaning I was unable to use it which was disappointing as I had been looking forward to it. "A nice hotel, about 25 min walk (or bus ride) from the city centre. Rooms were comfortable, the double bed was quite small but fine for one person. Breakfast was good value with a range of hot and cold options. Parking was available (for an extra fee) but it was a good base for a weekend away."

"It was more comfortable than I taught. For the price of each night, it exceeded it. A walking distance to the train station. It’s clean, easy to locate. Direction on how to access the building was clear. The room was sizeable, although it a shred bath and toilet, they were clean. I will recommend if you are staying a night or two."

"I have stayed at Whately Hall many times over the past 17 years, mostly through work. The hotel has shown its age over the years, but the refurb has started. My bedroom was ideal. The newly refurbed bathroom looked fantastic. All the staff were very accommodating, professional and polite… a credit to the owners. I would certainly revisit…"
