"Excellent location to stay in Alexandria. Close to everything. Walked to both the Fish Market and the Alexandria Library. Breakfasts were great each morning and the staff was very attentive. Manager and staff all very nice. Enjoyed Montys Bar with entertainment on the first floor. Two women at Concierge were very helpful Nagham and Nesma. It was great also to have the car transport service available at the Cecil Hotel. Rania from the car transport was very helpful in arranging our 3-hour car...

"Stayed in an economy single. Not much space, dated, but sufficiently clean, bed was comfortable, hot water worked well. I would put it on par with a private room at a hostel. Not much in the immediate area, but also not that far from a lot of stuff. There’s a little shop almost directly across the street for snacks and water, guy was fair, not trying to scam you (about 10 EGP for a 1.5L water). I walked from the train station, and then to all the major tourist sites. "

"Exceptional location and very wide sea view especially with the suite rooms. Got it for a very cheap reasonable price. Turn on the heater/AC and it will block the car noises. Will likely stay here again. Very pleasant receptionist on the morning and evening shifts."

"Beautiful historic hotel in a convenient location. Rooftop restaurant was very good. The staff was extremely attentive. Unfortunately the heat in our room did not function. They tried to fix it three times to no avail. We were okay with an extra blanket at this time of year, but it was chilly. Also, the hot water was just barely above warm, not hot enough. As the building is over 100 years old this is not entirely surprising, and the French colonial style decor was lovely. "

"This hotel should close up and not do any business. Staff were cool but the place was miserable air conditioning sucks, room dirty, slide door grease, windows faded from dirt and last thing is the food was horrible and obviously it was preheated don’t try it. "
