"Friendly staff but disappointed overall. There was a large window with new curtains and carpet. There was a new toilet, sink and radiator in the bathroom. But it was small and the shower itself let the place down. They have overlooked some of the basics including decent beds without headboard and gap at the end to lose your pillows.Filling the kettle at the sink was near impossible as it didn’t fit under the tap."

"I enjoyed my stay and the staff were great. But I had problems getting shower going and there was no heating on. Both problems were fixed but there could have been more info. Especially as the pub was closed the Sunday evening I arrived so no help available."

Superb breakfast in the adjacent room, with cereals, fruits, yoghurts and croissants etc to pick in advance. Comfortable bed and nice ensuite. We stayed in the ground floor room (Room 1), which I believe is the smallest double room"

"Clean room but I was in room 0 next to front door and window in my room was at street level so you could hear conversations of passers by and people trying to get in and out front door. Mixed feelings as I would stay there again but not in that room "

"More shabby than chic, I nevertheless soon became quite enamoured of my humble little room on the first floor. These prices were often a third of the travelodge. Is Schmotel three times worse than travelodge? No it’s a different thing. I was therefore pleased that there were no ghosts or Frankensteins and no poo on the wall or ceiling, and nobody with loud and evil intent anywhere in the seven blessed rooms. "
