"The location of the hotel is amazing, you cannot be closer to the Great Buddha, it is also a good experience to sleep in an old Japanese room. That said, you then understand why old Japanese houses are not worth much and Japanese people tend to prefer living in some modern less exotic dwellings. "Great location in Hase area of Kamakura. Easy walking distance to beach and temples. Good public transit near by. Clean and quiet location. Didn’t realize I’d have to share a toilet with several other rooms. My room had a shower, but my family had to use another on the first floor. It was locked when they wanted to use it and no staff around to assist. They ended up using mine, which was fine as we’re family, but it would have been easier if the room key worked for the showers too. "

"Amazing place! They don’t tell you about the amazing sauna/shower/bath!!!! I needed that. Just know there is a rickety staircase to get to the sauna and bed. Otherwise great."

"I once stayed in a traditional Japanese hotel. but this feels more like a hostel. The rooms are very small and so is the shared spaces. This place is good for solo travel or a quick night stay. The things I enjoyed the most was the comfortable mattresses and the ability to drop my luggage off in the morning. "

"So many thing about this place is worth it because the owner is easy going and understand many languages the family in the house are comforting and respectful I walked the area every spot was pretty close and the neighborhood was very nice and you get almost a beach view definitely worth the night being there "

"初めて宿坊に宿泊写経や瞑想ができます。朝はお祓いをすると講中安全の守り札を授けてくださいます。内風呂、露天風呂もあり（浴衣の柄は選べます。ボディーシャンプー、シャンプー、コンディショナー、ブラシ、綿棒、バスタオル×１、手ぬぐいタオル×１あり、垢すりなし＝宿泊用を持って行って正解）夕食や朝食は大山の豆腐料理をとても美味しくいただきました。ただ一つ冷蔵庫がありませんでした（アンケートに記載しました）周辺には飲料の自販機がありますが、コンビニはありません（部屋には温かいお茶あり）それを知っていたので、オヤツは下山時にこま参道で芋ようかんや餅まんじゅうを購入。また宿に向かう下り坂の途中に良弁まんじゅうのお店があり単品で購入。美味しくいただきました。お陰様で素敵な大山参りができました。また機会があれば泊まりたい宿坊です。（Expediaで予約できる大山の宿坊は今のところココだけかも知れませんね）ありがとうございます（感謝）"

"We enjoyed our stay and everything was provided in the room! The guest handbook provided was very detailed and had translation of the Japanese words on remotes and appliances, which is very helpful. It also explained things visitors may not know about Japan rules, such as how garbage is to be separated. The only thing that was a bit trying was the distance to the nearest train station, which was a good 10-13 minute walk each way. Of course, this is not the fault of the owners and walking is...

Must stay!

"All the staff was amazing. Most speak some English so it's not that difficult to communicate. Everyone we spoke to was very helpful. The hotel itself was not far from Yokohama station and very conveniently located. Will definitely visit again next time I'm in Japan! Also, they will store your luggage before check-in time and help you ship it to your next destination!"

"Location of this wonderful western style hotel, adjacent Yamashita park and short walk to China Town, was a bonus. The real pleasure, and why I'll be back, were the plushly appointed room -- with a long, deep bath!! -- and the personable, professional staff. Concierge went out of her way to promptly arrange parking and luggage storage tho we arrived hours early plus dinner reservations nearby. Monte Cristo breakfast (ham, cheese melt) was clincher. Five star accommodation that lives up to its reputation. "
