"My experience of the hotel Ohana was excellent. We really couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The hotel was absolutely spotless and welcoming, but the best part and selling point of this place, are the staff! The staff are all amazing especially Joan the manager! And I’m sorry I don’t have her name, but the head chef was absolutely top of her game!!! "It's the best place to stay if you appreciate the silence and you're looking for a quiet place because is far from the town and very close to Puna Pau and that makes that at night you can see the stars so clearly. "By mainland standards, this is an unusual property. There is no signage indicating the hotel. The hotel is up a hilly driveway and what looks like the lobby near street level is for a different hotel. "I loved sitting in the covered porch watching the day go from dark to daylight. I loved listening to the chickens all day long. I loved being greeted every morning by the staff. I loved having good drinking water always available. I enjoyed watching the staff care for the property. It looked like such a labor of love. The food was always amazing. "Staying at Hara Nui Hotel was one of the highlights of our trip to Easter Island! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and hospitality that made us feel right at home. The amazing girls at the front desk were absolutely wonderful—always smiling, super helpful, and ready with great tips for exploring the island. Whether it was helping us book tours, recommending local spots, or just chatting with us about the island’s culture, they were a total joy to interact with every day. We also had the pleasure of meeting Sebastián, the owner, who was just as friendly and welcoming. You can tell he truly cares about his guests and takes pride in making sure everyone has an unforgettable experience. Another bonus? Their laundry service was top-notch! Quick, efficient, and our clothes came back fresh and neatly folded—such a lifesaver after a few adventurous days on the island. "Odette is the hostess/manager every hotel should have! She made us feel at home and was tireless on making sure we were having a great time and going way beyond her duties - she was lovely, caring and an impressive professional running the sweetest and most charming hotel in Easter Island. Her knowledge of the island and well connectedness got us the best deals for tours and rentals. The place itself is beautifully decorated, comfortable and immaculately clean - the room service lady made sure our room was always clean and the beds were so well made that it felt like fresh sheets everyday. It felt and smelled clean throughout the entire place - I could actually see my reflection on the floor! Breakfast was always delicious and with high-quality products on offer. Yummy every single time! The only drawback I can think of is the location as it’s a little bit far from town but I saw it as a positive as the only thing we heard were crickets at night and birds in the morning! I understand this reads too positive but in true honesty, 5 stars ( and I’m very picky)!"

"The staff at Tupa hotel is very helpful and speak excellent English. This is not an island where you find luxury hotels. The facilities are well-worn and basic. Given you accept that, you would do well to book Tupa hotel for the kindness and service. Bed was comfortable. Storage plentiful. Location convenient and they were wonderful about picking me up at the airport and taking me back. On time and efficient. I had an ocean-side room with a sliding door that opened on a mini-patio. One thing you should know is that the cleaning person always left the sliding door open to air out the room. This helps prevent mildew in this tropical climate. So don't leave valuables lying around. This wasn't an issue for me since I don't travel with any valuables other than my passport and money, which I keep with me at all times. One thing I wish I knew before I went was that they can book you tours at the hotel. I booked separately and had an awful experience on the tours. Check with them about tours when you reach out to book. A beautiful island that is still rustic."

"Amazing place is owned by local friendly family. 5 minutes walk to best sunset spot on the island. Good restaurants nearby. Place is nice and clean. Full kitchen so you can cook if you want. There is no A/C in the room (but at the night it's pretty chill), and no breakfast/dining option on the property (in case you expect it)."

"Great location. The hotel is nondescript and has no signage indicating its presence. Very good breakfast. You’ll hear lots of bird sounds there including roosters that start their cries very early in the morning. There are other residences around the hotel, so you’ll hear their sounds as well, including their late-night music and banter. "
