"If you are going to stay in Capetown, most definitely stay here! They have the most amazing staff , totally spotless accommodation in the most beautiful building within walking distance of Company Gardens, Bo Kaap, Kloof and long streets. The Waterfront is also within walking distance of around 25 mins. The breakfast is outstanding as is the food in the on site restaurant Bombay Brasserie. The bar is well stocked and the cocktails are gorgeous. The staff cannot do enough for you and always with a smile. This was a last minute booking as another hotel that I had booked 6 months previously let us down at the very last minute and 2 days before our departure from the UK and my birthday. The hotel surprised us with sweet treats and champagne and arranged for flowers and balloons to be delivered to our gorgeous suite. I am so grateful now that the other hotel cancelled and I was able to celebrate my birthday staying at the Taj instead. We will most definitely be returning next year. "

"After climbing Kilimanjaro, we spent several nights on a round trip in Zanzibar in a group of five. On arrival, we were able to leave the rest of our luggage at the hotel so that we didn't have to lug it around all day. We spent the last two days at the Maru Maru Hotel, which was a very good decision. The hotel is located in the middle of the alleyways of Stonetown, is easily accessible and the perfect starting point for sightseeing tours. We were warmly welcomed and were able to use the rooftop bar and pool even on the day of our departure. Very good breakfast, lunch and dinner, we enjoyed it very much and would love to come back. "This riad is gorgeous and the staff is impeccable. The location is excellent. The music can be very loud from 8-11pm every night but if you don’t like to go to bed early it’s the perfect spot!"

"Very friendly staff all speak excellent English and helpful. Facility is beautiful and well maintained. In site restaurant very good. Perfect combination of quiet yet close to the new part of city and old town Medina. Lots of restaurant and cafes all walking distance. AC goes off periodically on a schedule so you have to power off and on to turn it on. "
