"I was fortunate to book a stay at the Patrician Hollywood Universal when I flew into town for a convention. Beautiful house with exceptional outdoor space and clean and comfortable rooms. "The host canceled our stay on the same day of arrival due to plumbing issues. I was just a little disturbed with still being charged a large amount. Just an admonishment to those reading my review, beware of scams. I am not saying that is what this was, but it is very possible. I am not a happy Expedia customer right now!"

"Very cute place in a lovely neighborhood. Bathroom is small but very functional and the patio out front was really nice. 2 dogs living in main house were sweet and affectionate. Would definitely stay here again! Very nice. A tiny odor from carpet (I think) when we arrived but was not bad at all. "

"The property had an ant problem that was known about since there was already ant poison in the cabinet. There was construction either on the property or adjacent that was not communicated prior to the stay. Informing the property manager about these things offended him. Since it was a last minute booking doesnt qualify for a refund and VRBO is no help, the entire amount paid gone because we had to book another property and eat the loss! "I chose Sierra Madre cottage as it was close to my daughter’s home. I was greeted by Tom (along with lovely fresh baked goodies from a local bakery). The cottage had everything I need (especially air conditioning as I’m not used to the scorching California sun). The pool was definitely an added bonus.
