"Overall, the hotel/resort is very nice and serene. The beach front rooms provide a relaxing atmosphere. The current renovations make for a couple of hazardous areas, but surprisingly, no noise. There is only one restaurant on the premises - it has limited hours and is overpriced. The food was superb and the service excellent."

"The Newstead was perfect for our family of four. We stayes in a two bedroom condo with beautiful water views. The staff were very friendly and super helpful with recommendations and they happily accomodated our requests. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the property. We took advantage of the golf course and spa. The only downside was that the pool was under construction and not usable, but we had access to a newrby property with a pool and beach access. "

"This is an old school hotel. Reminds me of a B&B. The room was pleasant but rather small. I found the a/c not responsive. The restaurant, Ascots, was excellent. Railway Trail runs along the north side of the island. As you walk, you'll go in old train tunnels, walk under tropical canopies, and stroll on the grass "sidewalks" until the trail picks up again. There are great views of the ocean, homes, and plants. In Bermuda, you are allowed to paint your house the color of your choice but the roof must be white. This is because there is no fresh water source on the island so each home harvests rain water to use in the home. The water is stored under the house in large tanks. But why white? The white used to be from lime mortar that has anti-bacterial properties, now the the roofs are painted white which reflects UV light from the sun and helps purify the water. If I had a house in Bermuda, it would be teal!
