"This is a beautiful hotel with great views of the river and countryside. It is quiet and the rooms are very nice. I used the private baths with no waiting. The bar is a great whisky and wine bar. Complimentary ramen was very nice and filling. Other snacks are also given free. Staff were so friendly, and managed around my language barrier with ease and friendliness."

"Our stay at La Vista Daisetsuzan was a highlight of our trip to Japan. We spent 3 nights here and throughout the whole trip, the staff were friendly and kind, the food - especially the French dinner and the breakfast - was DELICIOUS, and we loved the overall feel of the hotel. Would highly recommend staying here! "

"The included dinner and breakfast was very good. The buffet dinner had alot of choices and so did the breakfast.The location of the hotel is ideal for the Sounkyo Waterfall Ice Festival which is only a 10minute walk from the hotel. We also liked the hotel shuttle bus provided from Sapporo, very convenient."

"Our family stayed over for a night at the hotel to visit Daisetsuzan. Hotel is very close to the cable car in small town of Sounkyo. We were there at off-season so it was quiet. Hotel is bit old but its a nice experience to stay in traditional Japanese accommodation. Rooms and tatami mattress were fine and fits in 4 people (albeit bit tight). "Perfect food and good quality. Beef at dinner is simply gorgeous. Excellent staff hospitality l. Couldn't ask for anything better. Onsen a bit outdated and small with no massage bubbles, etc. Other than this all good."
