"Whitby is overpriced for overnight accommodation. Unless you are here for more than two nights the YHA is perfect. Great location (unless you don’t like walking uphill) beautiful views, free parking, basic but very comfortable beds and an amazing breakfast for £10 (2024) Excellent "

Only issue this time was someone clearly had too much to drink in the village and people were shouting in the early hours of the morning. "I was informed about being on the 4th floor in advance of my stay, which was not a problem. However, the stairway is steep and has many doors to pass through. The room itself is compromised for height by being in the eaves but not a problem for a solo traveller. Would be a different review if I had been offered this"luxury" double room as a couple"
